VINAB has received a major new project from LKAB to improve the working environment and safety.
This major project involves the dismantling of the existing open walkway TR213, which will be replaced by a new, larger and weather-protected/insulated walkway.
The main part of this project will be carried out during a 21-day maintenance shutdown in September 2024, which requires careful preparation and planning. The aim of the project is to improve the working environment and safety of LKAB employees and contractors.
The project involves several critical steps:
- Earthworks and concrete works: to ensure a stable foundation for the new structure.
- Reinforcements and bracing of existing supports: to maintain and improve structural integrity.
- Manufacturing and delivery of new conveyor belts: Approximately 170 meters long, including a new conveyor.
- Dismantling of existing conveyor belts: Including a conveyor that is approximately 170 meters long and has a total weight of 150 tons.
- Installation of new belt conveyors: Including a new conveyor, approximately 170 meters long with a total weight of 300 tons.
Through this project, VINAB and LKAB are demonstrating their commitment to improving working conditions and safety in the industry, which benefits all parties involved.
